From Ka: What an intriguing storyline! The backdro From Ka:
What an intriguing storyline! The backdrop of the castle and Felicity engaging with distant relatives allows for significant and interesting plot twists and a couple of surprises along the way! The characters and surrounds are vividly described so the reader can engage with the story on an emotional level. The various personalities and agendas definitely keep it interesting.

I have read all the books in this series by Rosie, so have got to know and enjoy the key characters. I look forward to the next one. I recommend both this episode and the series to those who enjoy this cozy murder mystery genre.

Just to be aware that spiritualism and seances do pop up within the overall storyline, which may be of a concern to some.

From Kel:
Rosie Hunt Author is a whizz at historical, cosy fiction, and “Murder in the Castle” is a fantastic addition to the Lady Felicity Quick mystery series. Off to an English castle to meet family she didn’t know about, Felicity finds herself in the middle of yet another mystery! At first, it seems to be only family politics and old wounds, but soon the twists start coming and Felicity and Alex have to keep their wits about them! I appreciated being back in a traditional cosy mystery setting and loved the new cast members, the new family are a hoot! The wrap-up is satisfying and I can’t wait for the next book! This is an awesome read from start to finish, highly recommended and five out of five on the en-JOY-ment scale!
Charlie bug is all good because @hiltonveterinaryh Charlie bug is all good because @hiltonveterinaryhospital are just the best! Munchkin ate a cotton wool ball (low chance of very serious consequences) so Dr. @halgreensarah came up with a fantastic plan in the five minute drive from my call to arriving to get my pup (who doesn’t respond to vomit meds) to vomit it back up! And it WORKED! Yay! Saved us hours of worry and a scope in the morning to get it out. So grateful that they have taken the time to know Charlie and know her complexities! Such an awesome team ❤️

Rosie Hunt Author has written another fantastic ad Rosie Hunt Author has written another fantastic addition to the Lady Felicity Quick Mystery series, “Murder at a Flower Show” opens with Lady Felicity as she attends a flower show near her grandmother’s home as the celebrity judge! It seems simple enough until someone is murdered!

Trying her level best to stay out of trouble, she avoids investigating at first. However, when her grandma is made out to be a suspect, Felicity realises she can’t leave the mystery to the police! Unpacking motive and opportunity, with her trusty hound at her side, she works to discern what is village gossip and family dramas and what is behind a murder!

Filled with wonderful writing, interesting characters, and a mystery with a twist, this book is delightful from the start with a very satisfying finish! For those who are following the series, I particularly enjoyed the increased time with Alex and her grandmama highly recommend it if you enjoy historical cosy murder mysteries! It’s a five out of five on the enJOYment scale!

I received a free copy of this book, and this is my honest review.

It has been a month since I finished reading The 1 It has been a month since I finished reading The 1619 Project: A Visual Experience by Nikole Hannah-Jones; The New York Times Magazine and I am still reflecting on it. I have started following a number of the artists included. It is hard to explain the impact this book has on the reader, it is heartbreaking, moving, and activating. It reminds one of what one knows factually transpired but fleshes out the long-lasting impact these historic events have had and continue to have in our day-to-day lives.

I am not American, I am South African. This is not a book that requires this story to be your history to be relatable and teaching. The visuals give new depth to this unique historical approach. It has been criticised and banned, it is also necessary and shocking. The canvas from 1619 to today is huge, it is a story of damage and hurt created by those repressing and abusing humans of a different skin tone.

Nikole Hannah-Jones closes her preface with this sentence and it sums it up perfectly “The marriage of beautiful, haunting, and profound words and imagery creates an experience for the reader, a wanting to reflect, to sit in both the discomfort and the joy, to contemplate what a nation owes a people who have contributed so much and yet received so little, and maybe even, to act.”

I cannot recommend it highly enough, it is a phenomenal body of work. The art is amazing as is the poetry. The prose is eloquent and insightful. It is a five out of five on the enJOYment scale.

I received a complimentary copy of the book from Clarkson Potter/ Ten Speed Press through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
