A beautiful, pink, hardcopy of Angie Smith’s Seamless arrived and, loving the concept of a thread running through the Bible, I jumped right in knowing I’d be rereading it in a few weeks time when I did the study with Proverbs 31 Online Bible Study. Usually, I place the book description at the end of a review, but, to appreciate this book and decide if you should read it, consider the back cover words carefully:
- Understand the Bible as a whole as you change the way you look at Scripture;
- connect with the people, places and promises of God’s Word in a fresh way;
- gain clarity and confidence in your understanding of Scripture
- discover a biblical context that reshapes and brings to life the stories from the Old and New Testaments”
Now, if you know how Adam links to Jesus, that Chronicles, Kings and the Prophets happen in the same timeframe and who wrote Ephesians, Philippians and Galatians and why, this isn’t the book for you unless you want to encourage that you’ve got a handle on the overarching architecture of the Bible. If it doesn’t flow for you in one cinematic-style movie, this book creates a picture that resonates and is easy to remember, cute icons and pretty visuals included! Flipping through a Bible is essential and, I found, doing it with the P31 OBSers made a world of difference, a second time around was much better than the first. Despite studying the Bible with the likes of David Pawson and in several translations, I still learnt so much about the intricacies of the Bible. Angie skims the details, her objective is to pique your interest, build your confidence and welcome you to the wonderful study of the Word! She has renewed my desire to reread the Bible and encouraged me to pick up several other books that dig deeper! It’s a five out of five, it delivers on its description and goal beautifully!
